The advanced dual antibody test looks for the presence of Covid-19 specific IgG and IgM antibodies, which are markers of your body’s immune response to the virus.
When a patient contracts Covid-19 their body starts to produce its own unique antibodies to fight it, and the body can store some of these antibodies in its memory. For patients that recover they will have these antibodies present in their blood and therefore potential immunity to Covid-19.
The test involves blood taken from the fingertip using a prick needle, and results within 15 minutes.
The results can be as follows:
Negative
No antibodies detected indicates no exposure to Covid-19
Positive IgM
Early stage detection of Covid-19
Days 1-7
Positive IgM & IgG
Late stage detection of Covid-19
Days 8-14
Positive IgG
Antibodies present indicating you have been exposed to Covid-19 in the past and therefore have potential immunity
Accuracy Results
99.42% Accuracy on the IgG/IgM Rapid Test Sensitivity (True Positive Result)
100% Accuracy on the IgG/IgM Rapid Test Specificity (True Negative Result)
If a patient displays only the antibody IgG, this could indicate potential
Immunity and provided they have no other clinical symptoms they may be able
to return to work with a minimal risk for reinfection.
Companies are using this test to monitor the wellbeing of their staff, Individuals are using this test for peace of mind.
