The HSE guidance ‘First aid needs assessment’ refers to mental health in the workplace.
First Aid for Mental Health is an internationally recognised training course, designed to teach people how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill health and provide help on a first aid basis. In the same way as learning physical first aid, this course teaches people how to recognise the crucial warning signs of mental ill health and feel confident enough to steer someone towards appropriate support.
The half day course is an introductionary session to raise awareness of Mental Health.

The one day Mental Health First Aid Training Course is aimed at providing learners with the knowledge to identify suspected mental health conditions and to develop the skills needed to discuss this and signpost the person to professional help
This 6-hour qualification provides learners with the skills to recognise a range of mental health conditions, how to start a supportive conversation and when and how to signpost a person to seek professional help. Learners will learn how to recognise and manage stress & understand the impact of substance abuse.
They will learn about the first aid action plan for mental health, be able to put it in place and know how to implement a positive mental health culture in the workplace.
This course is aimed at Managers & Company Owners and giving them the confidence to provide mental health awareness within their organisations.

The Two Day Mental Health First Aid Course is aimed at providing a deeper understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect a persons wellbeing. This course will provide the practical skills required to spot signs of mental illness and give the confidence to step-in and support a person needing assistance.
This 12-hour qualification provides learners with the knowledge to recognise a wide range of mental health conditions and learn about the support/therapy provided by professional healthcare providers.
They will know how to start a supportive conversation and when and how to signpost a person to seek appropriate professional help.
Learners will recognise and manage stress and understand the impact of substance abuse.
