Mental Health First Aid training

Mental health is an increasingly prominent issue in organisations around the world, with a recognition that poor mental health can negatively impact on our health, wellbeing and productivity.

Each year approximately 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health condition and at least 1 in 6 employees experience common mental health problems in the workplace. Research has shown that work is the biggest cause of stress which can stop people performing at their best.

The HSE guidance ‘First aid needs assessment’ refers to mental health in the workplace.

First Aid for Mental Health is an internationally recognised training course, designed to teach people how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill health and provide help on a first aid basis. In the same way as learning physical first aid, this course teaches people how to recognise the crucial warning signs of mental ill health and feel confident enough to steer someone towards appropriate support.
